Winning Entry ‘The Parties at Night’ written by Alexander Clarke from Kells and Connor Primary School:
Parties are annoying they go on through the night,
Sometimes they can even last, from darkness until light,
I try to sleep I try so hard,
But I can hear the music that is coming from the yard.
Through sleepless nights I try to sleep
As I try to tackle the endless beat
Awake at night the music roars
But other people they just snore
As I myself I try to rest
And continue to sweat in my bed vest
Toss and turn and cover my ears
While they all sit and drink their beers
All this time I try to fight
My endless streak of sleepless nights
Runner-up ‘Noise Pollution’ written by Rachael Chesney, Longstone Primary School.
Highly Commended ‘The Barking Dog’ written by Rebekah McKay, Ballykeel Primary School
